Like most Formula One fans, I have spent my Sunday afternoons glued to the television or nose-deep in the weekly Autosport magazines. I am an ardent fan alongside my Dad who has avidly followed the sport since the 60’s. This remarkable spectacle has long been characterised by fierce rivalries, vociferous confrontations and undeniable talent.
Amidst the paddock politics throughout the years, the same recurring thought always lingers: why have we never seen a successful female F1 driver? Is it because they haven’t had the opportunity? Is it because they’re not good enough? Or is it due to a lack of sponsorship?
